The Mary Mavec
Opportunity School of Euclid Inc.:
Nurturing Potential

Our Mission

Mary Mavec Opportunity School’s mission is to provide a stimulating, rewarding, and stable workshop environment for adults with developmental disabilities, in a richly rewarding and compassionate setting that encourages life-long growth.

Founded on Compassion

In 1947, before government became involved in disabilities,
Mrs. Elizabeth Williams opened a classroom in a home on Lake Shore Boulevard. She was passionate about educating people with disabilities.

Today, tucked into a residential neighborhood in Euclid, Ohio, Mary Mavec Opportunity School carries on its founder’s passion by welcoming adults with developmental disabilities into a supportive, compassionate, and stimulating day workshop.

We moved into our new building in December of 2007 at the corner of East 217th Street and Lake Shore Boulevard. The Mayor, Police Chief, Fire Chief, members of City Council, volunteers, friends, members of our families, and our clients were present for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Mary Mavec School is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. It is funded by private donations and profits from jobs performed by our clients. We invite donations to enable us to continue our work.
